### Could you tell us something about yourself, whereabouts etc I am an electronic musician living in Kyoto, Japan and have been making electronic music for over 40 years now. I have been playing live and presenting my music mainly in the club scene. Nowadays, I do more personal activities such as Youtube and live performances at tea celemony rooms rather than working in club scenes. ### Tell us an early memory about software & electronic music As a listener, I was listening to Kraftwerk and other Electric pop as a teenager. As a producer, my exposure to software came much later, and until then I had been creating with hardware for a long time. My first synthesizer was Roland JX-8P. ### Why did you start using sunvox, and what did you use before that? I was feeling stuck using a regular DAW to compose music then and was looking for a different way to do it, when a young artist told me about SunVox. When I tried it, it was very easy to use and sounded great, so I was immediately hooked. Until then, I had mainly used a French DAW called Mulab. This was very simple and easy to use software. ### Morning-person or Nightowl? (or both?) Night person maybe. ### Any particular inspiring sunvox song (of somebody else) to mention? "Silence Artifacts" by Nightradio ### Which keyboard shortcut is your favorite or mostly used one? Ctrl+Z (can't be redone in your life, but can be on your computer) ### Dark, light, colourful or default sunvox colorscheme? Basically I use normal colors, but sometimes I use bright colors for a change of pace. ### Sunvox contains some of your effects/synths, which do u use the most? Echo? maube. ### Do you have new effects/synths in the making? If so, could you tell us about it. No, what I can do is only to use ready-made software. ### Tell us a good book, article or movie which inspired you? Andrei Tarkovsky's movies and his book "Запечатленное время (Sealed Time)". This book was written in Russian, but fortunately for me, it has been translated into Japanese so I could read it. You can learn about his philosophy of art. I read this book again and again when I was young. Then there is Blade Runner. Here is the source of all cyberpunk aesthetics and it actually more than that. And other Sci-fi films such as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Galaxy Quest, etc. I think good movies have good sound. ### Do you use MIDI a lot for sunvox, and/or why (not)? I sometimes use MIDI to play keyboard and use knobs to change parameters of the modules in my live performance. ### Do you still use audio samples besides synthesis? Yes I do. SunVox's sampler is simple but very useful and easy to use. ### Which sunvox-feature was introduced over time, which made you very happy? The most wonderful feature is the flexible routing mechanism. Then there is the multi-platform feature, where all song data, including samples, can be folded into one file and shared between each platform. ### 5 years into the future: which features would you like to see in sunvox? I would like to be able to use VST Instruments, which is a bit contradictory to the SunVox philosophy though. I would also like to see a sequencer module that is not based on a tracker. ### What are your plans for the future music-wise? At the moment I like to play synthesizers in a quiet, beautiful place at a low volume, mix it with the environment sounds of the place, and have people listen to it. This way of doing things always produces some miraculous phenomenon. Sharing this experience with people is my greatest joy. So I think I will keep doing this for a while. The other side of my future is the unknown journey of music that is just coming my way. This is not something that I plan, but something that comes to me from the other side. ### Which musical genres do you like / are influencing you Ambient, Modern/Contemporary Classical, Baroque, Minimal Techno, Dub Techno, etc. ### Where can people follow your latest software and/or music releases? * [Waki.bandcamp.com](https://waki.bandcamp.com) * [Waki Easy And Nice Youtube Channel](https://www.youtube.com/@easyandnice) sunvox forum:  read more comment
